Tracking Policy

Trackers may be placed on your device or read from it when you browse sogelink.com and its subdomains, and when you open the emails we send you. This policy explains what these trackers are, why we use them and how to manage them. It is established pursuant to Article 82 of French Act No. 78-17 of 6 January 1978, as amended, as interpreted by the CNIL’s guidelines and recommendation of 17 September 2020, and by the CNIL’s recommendation of 12 March 2026 on tracking pixels in emails.

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie (or tracker) is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. It allows your device to be recognised, your preferences to be remembered and information about your browsing to be collected.

  • Session cookies: automatically deleted when you close your browser
  • Persistent cookies: kept for a set period, even after you close your browser
  • First-party cookies: placed directly by Sogelink
  • Third-party cookies: placed by partners during your visit

Under the regulations, the term “tracker” also covers similar technologies: tracking pixels, browser fingerprinting and local storage identifiers.

2. Why do we use cookies?

  • To ensure the site and the customer area work properly (strictly necessary cookies)
  • To remember your browsing preferences and your consent
  • To measure site audience and improve our content and performance
  • To offer you personalised content and ads tailored to your professional profile
  • To enable content sharing on professional social networks

Sogelink never places cookies that require your consent without first obtaining it explicitly. Silence or simply continuing to browse does not constitute consent.

4. Managing your consent

In line with the CNIL’s recommendations of 1 October 2020, non-essential cookies are only placed after we have obtained your free, informed, specific and unambiguous consent.

4.1 When you first visit

A cookie management banner is displayed. You can accept all, reject all or customise your choices by category. Refusing cookies never deprives you of an essential feature of the site.

4.2 Changing your preferences at any time

Manage your cookie preferences

You can change your choices at any time through our Didomi preference manager.

4.3 Consent validity period

Your consent is kept for a maximum of 13 months. When it expires, the banner is displayed again so that you can renew or change your choices.

Your choice is stored in the sogelink_consent cookie (essential cookies). If you delete it, the banner will reappear on your next visit.

4.4 Relationship with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

The placing of trackers on your device, or the reading of information stored on it, falls under Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act (Loi Informatique et Libertés). Where the data collected in this way constitutes personal data, its subsequent processing falls under the GDPR and is based on the following legal grounds:

  • trackers subject to consent (sections 3.2 to 3.5): your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR);
  • strictly necessary trackers (section 3.1): Sogelink’s legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) in ensuring the operation, security and accessibility of its services.

The purposes, retention periods, recipients and rights associated with these processing activities are detailed in our Privacy Policy.

5. Configuring your browser

These settings complement the preference manager mentioned in section 4, which remains the primary means of giving and withdrawing your consent.

You can control cookies directly through your browser settings. Please note that disabling them entirely may affect how the site works, including logging in to the customer area.

For advertising cookies, you can also opt out via:

6. Third-party cookies and responsibility

Sogelink embeds content and services provided by third parties (Google, LinkedIn, Meta, HubSpot, YouTube). These third parties may place cookies as independent data controllers for the processing they carry out after collection. Their respective policies:

Several of these third parties are established outside the European Economic Area or may transfer all or part of the data collected outside it. These transfers are governed by the appropriate safeguards described in section 6 of our Privacy Policy, a copy of which you can obtain by writing to our DPO.

7. Your rights regarding cookies

Where the data collected through cookies can identify you, you benefit from all the rights provided by the GDPR, detailed in the Privacy Policy. As regards cookies specifically, you may at any time withdraw your consent, object to the placing of any non-essential cookie, or lodge a complaint with the CNIL.
