Focus CAT Veg
Focus CAT Veg is our design solution for roads, signs and road markings. It is an add-on module for Autodesk Civil 3D, adapted for design according to Norwegian requirements and needs.
Focus CAT Veg includes our modules Focus CAT Basis and Focus CAT Skilt og oppmerking. Here you will find the project start-up functionality from Focus CAT Basis, such as import and purchase of SOSI map data, WMS/WFS sources and much more. You can manage and edit SOSI data on imported objects, or design new objects and enrich them. You can then export the result again, so the solution can be used both for project start-up and for producing deliverables.
Focus CAT Veg is a design tool for all types of roads and streets at different levels of detail. The module is adapted for designing centerlines, profiles and road models according to the requirements of the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (Statens vegvesen).
There are templates for correct plotting of drawings based on the Handbook R700 of the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, so that what has been designed is presented correctly. We also offer a range of export options, such as LandXML for machine control and DWG discipline models used to produce IFC 4.3 deliveries.
By combining the strong features of Autodesk Civil 3D and Focus CAT Veg, you get a complete solution for designing road models as well as sign and road marking plans.
A tool for Norwegian road projects
Construction and geometric design of the road centerline, with checking of requirements based on road class.
The solution checks Norwegian requirements for alignment design, curve widening, standard cross sections and more.
A catalog of standard cross sections from N100, pre-tagged with process codes and SOSI/NS information. You can adapt the templates or create new ones for your own project.

Powerful import of SOSI files from Focus CAT Basis. With our new StarterMap solution, you can also buy and import map data in a simple process directly in the software. Whether you import local files or maps from StarterMap, terrain and 3D buildings can be generated on import.
With Civil 3D functions you can carry out a range of analyses, including elevation and slope analyses. You can also easily extract local elevation and slope, and then adjust calculations.
Create good discipline models with volumes, surfaces and lines using our discipline model export. Ensure good metadata with Property Sets functions to enrich the model.
Create sign plans for all road types, both new and existing roads, in line with current Norwegian rules. Sign schedules are generated automatically from placed signs, and the columns can be adapted to the project.
An extensive sign library according to the Statens vegvesen standard, and a dedicated sign editor for creating your own sign plates for place names, directional signage, service signs and more. Sign posts are available as single-sided, double-sided, half gantry and full gantry.
A toolbar that gives the correct line width and dash pattern based on the speed limit. Road markings can be drawn manually or automatically, with schedules generated from what has been drawn.
The status of sign posts can be set as existing, new, removed or moved. Status is visualized with color codes that can be customized by the user.
Export a discipline model with metadata that can be further exported to IFC4.3.
Produce drawings in line with Handbook R700 from Statens vegvesen.
